2010 Chilliwack Fire Department Calendar

Just had to blog one more time about the 2010 Chilliwack Fire Department Calendar! They just finished printing the calendars today and they are ready for sale. Calendars can be purchased in the Cottonwood Mall on Dec 23rd and 24th or you can contact fire hall #1 for more information about the calendar sales. All money made from the sale of these calendars goes to charity.
It is amazing that we were able to organize the people and complete the photographing, editing, designing and printing in two and a half weeks! And I must say it is a great looking calendar, one I can be proud of!

Kendra's Family

Last weekend I photographed Kendra's family. When I arrived the boys had their smiles prepped and all ready to go. We made it through the session with flying colours when the boys were bribed with promises of video games and parties after the photo shoot.

2010 Chilliwack Fire Department Calendar

This has been a very exciting project creating the Chilliwack 2010 Fire Department Calendar! With very limited time we seem to have still pulled it off! A few of the fire guys helped to organize everyone for the photographs, it was 4 straight days of taking photos. Now I'm still in the editing process and working on the design of the calendar, but I am hoping to have everything done and ready to go on Monday night. This is my first calendar that has been solely photographed and designed by Kelly Corbett Photography!
Full images of all the photographs taken can be viewing by visiting my website http://www.kelcophoto.ca and select "clients". More images will be added as they get edited.

Kevin & Laura's Wedding

On November 14th I photographed Kevin & Laura's Wedding. Winter weddings are always a little tough to photograph as there is a lack of light when the sun sets at 4:30pm. And it didn't help that I was temporarily missing an important piece to my tripod and had to borrow a tripod. But all things considered I think the photos came through quite well. Kevin and Laura were married in a very beautiful church and reception was lots of fun and very original. Kevin a and Laura even had a couple of choreographed dances that were very entertaining to watch.

Adrianna

Last Friday I had the pleasure of photographing my co-workers daughter Adrianna. She is a very cute little girl who was more than happy to play with all the props we provided for her. It was lots of work to get her to smile, but after editing all of her photos I thought with those great big blue eyes who really needs a smile for every shot?!

Yen's Family

On Friday the 13th I photographed Yen & Andrew and their two beautiful little girls Aisha & Talya. It was nice to see Yen's family again as I originally met Yen when she asked to to take her Maternity Photographs. Talya, the newest addition to the family is now 1 year old!
Unfortunately Talya was a little unhappy after having her flu vaccination the day before, but her older sister Aisha was more than willing to do multiple poses for me!

Lisa & Kevin's Family

Last weekend I photographed Lisa and Kevin's family. It was great fun working with Lisa and Kevin again as I photographed their wedding a few years ago. Their two beautiful, super cute children were a pleasure to photograph. Alex didn't really want to smile for the camera, but he was definitely interested in all of my photography equipment. Seems they have a budding photographer in the family already!

Clayton & Miranda

On October 24th I photographed Clayton & Miranda's wedding. This was one of my associate wedding photographer sessions for White Album Wedding Chapel. After the ceremony we went to the side of the church to take some formals, there was a beautiful red bush that I thought would look very nice with the green accent colour of the wedding party. As you can see from the photo above, I took the photo at just the right angle and without any extra editing ended up with a great big red heart in my photo! Funny thing is, I didn't even notice it while I was taking the photograph.

Timmy & Nathan

Last Thursday I photographed Timmy and his new baby brother Nathan. Nathan decided to take a nap at the beginning of the photo session and I was amazed that I could move him around and he wouldn't wake up or even complain. It really was kind of like working with a little soft doll. But eventually Nathan woke up and opened those big beautiful eyes!

Tanya & Jamie's Wedding

On September 12th I photographed Tanya and Jamie's Wedding. The scottish theme was charming and the traditional dancing at the reception was very entertaining. It was a very beautiful wedding with great venues and wonderful food. The reception and formals were in Fort Langley, an intriguing  area and a place I hope I get to photograph in again!

Trip to the Island

I just had to add this interesting story to my blog! Last weekend I went to the island to visit some wedding clients. They came across my website when they were googling the groom's name (Kelly Corbett), the bride's name just happens to be Kelly also...thus it would be perfect for me (Kelly Corbett) to photograph Kelly and Kelly Corbett's wedding! Gee, what are the chances? Three Kelly Corbetts all at one wedding. Crazy. I am looking forward to photographing the wedding next September, should be eventful.
Above are a couple of photos I took at Goldstream park while I was over on the island.

Sarah & Rob Wedding

On Saturday September 5th I photographed Sarah and Rob's wedding. It started looking like a really raining day, but once again luck was on my side and when it came time to photograph the formals at Sardis Park and we were provided with pleasantly overcast skies. Unfortunately I pulled a muscle in my back while repositioning my camera bag at the start of the day, but I managed to make it through the day and we still got some great shots. The ceremony and reception was at the Best Western Hotel in Chilliwack, a very convenient venue.

Christine & Tyson's Engagement

Last Sunday at Mission Heritage Park I photograph Christine and Tyson's engagement. We had a good time and wandered all over the park. We even made the effort to hike up the hill to the grotto, thanks to Tyson hiking my gear all the way up the hill for me! It was a nice relaxed session and we got tons of great shots. There was even a church service happening in the park so we got to listen to live music in the background. Christine and Tyson were great to work with and I am looking forward to photographing their wedding next August!

Deborah & Dennis Wedding

On August 8th I photographed Deborah and Dennis's wedding. The wedding took place on their property in their big beautiful back yard. The big day started with a number of small glitches for Deborah, we were a bit late getting to the ceremony and we ran out of time for the formal shots. But it was still a great event. Deborah and Dennis smiled the whole way through and there was lots of humor to go around. It was a very enjoyable, personalized wedding.

Drew & Holly Wedding

On Saturday August 1st I photographed my first wedding as "White Album Weddings" associate photographer. For a very reasonable price the wedding chapel and a lovely photographer (me) are available to capture ceremony and formals. You can get more information about this great opportunity at http://www.whitealbumweddings.com
Drew and Holly were a great couple to work with. We were lucky because even though we are still stuck in this heat wave it wasn't a horribly hot photo session. We used the shade outside the wedding chapel and then we headed over to the old Chilliwack City Hall/Museum to finish off the formals.

Baby Tyson

On July 25th I photographed one month old baby Tyson and his family. Tyson was a great baby to photograph! I have never been able to photograph and sleeping baby before and I have always been amazed at how active new babies are...but Tyson slept for me and he was awake for some shots too. So I got more variety than I was hoping for. Tyson also did really well with the heat (it was one of those melty-hot days).

Tanya & Jamie Engagement

On Sunday July 19th I took Tanya and Jamie's engagement photographs. We met at the Stewart Farm House in Whiterock. This was a new location for me and it had lots of great areas to photograph! After the farm house we hit the beach for a few final images. Tanya and jamie were fun to work with and I am looking forward to photographing their wedding, there will even be kilts and scottish dance involved!

60th Birthday Party!

On Saturday July 11th I photographed Mr Siklos 60th Birthday Party. It was a nice small family gathering. They have a beautiful swimming pool on the property that we used for some "splashy" photos and I could tell the kids couldn't wait to get in the pool after I was gone! After we took a bunch of fun relaxed photos and we finished off the evening with some family group shots.

Special Olympics

Last weekend, July 10th and 11th, on short notice I was invited to help photograph the Special Olympics. A fellow photographer, offered me the opportunity to cover this event because she was still recovering from a minor fender bender from a few days previous to the event. It was a busy two days out in the hot sun, but it was very rewarding and enjoyable. I was one of a team of six photographers covering the event. My main sports to capture were soccer, bocce, and some of the medal award presentations. I must say I was very impressed with these athletes, they worked really hard at their sports and had fantastic energy.
