Glenn & Michelle

Last week I photographed Glenn and Michelle at Gwynne Vaughan Park. Glenn and Michelle where having portraits taken to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. This was my first time photographing at this location and I loved it! The gardens were beautiful and there was a great scene to photograph at every step through the small park. Can't wait to use this location for a portrait session again.

Wayne's Weather Window

The above image was shown on Wayne's Weather Window (Global TV News) on Wednesday July 21st. My aunt had suggested I submit this image to Global News. I sent it in late last night then this afternoon I got an email from Wayne telling me he was going to show it on the news tonight. It was kinda fun seeing my photo posted on the TV! I wonder if my photograph will get chosen as the winner for the week on Friday?

Shelby & Tom Wedding 2010

Last weekend I photographed Shelby and Tom's wedding in Abbotsford. Before we went to the ceremony Shelby and Tom met privately at a friends beautiful farm to have some photos taken. The ceremony was held at Trinity CRC Church and the reception was at the Legacy Hall. I had a great time working with Shelby and Tom and their wedding party. I don't think I have seen a bride quite this excited to be getting married in a long time!

Karen & Blaine

Last weekend I photographed Karen & Blaine's Wedding. The ceremony was held at St. Andrew's United Church in Vancouver. After the ceremony we swung by the Canuck Place for a couple of quick photos as Karen volunteers at the beautiful mansion. Then we made our way over to Queen Elizabeth Park where we did the formals and had the reception at the Season's in the Park restaurant. Loved the venue for the reception! So beautiful with giant windows overlooking the park and the city of vancouver. The food was amazing and the service was superb. I felt lucky to be a part of this special day.

Chilliwack Fire Fighters Calendar 2011

I have been busy working on photographing the Chilliwack Fire Fighters for the second annual calendar. So far I have photographed six of the twelve photo sessions required for the calendar and I have managed to edit three of those sessions. To view all of the images photographed you can visit my website at http://www.kelcophoto.ca and select "clients" to find the gallery. The images you see above are ones that have NOT been selected for the calendar (though the calendar image choice may or may not be similar).
When I photographed the first 2010 calendar one of my favorite sessions was with the ladder truck as I got to go up in the bucket to take the photos. This year (so far) my favorite session has been with the ladder truck again. I thought it was pretty cool because we shut down five corners to take the photos! Ah, the power I can wield!

Kristin & Kiel's Wedding 2010

Last weekend I photographed Kristin & Kiel's wedding. This wedding was super fun for me as I photographed Kristin's sister's wedding last November. It was great to see all of Kristin's family again. And I must say I quite enjoyed knowing mostly everyone's name, saves on the brain energy of trying to remember names in such a short time frame.
At both wedding receptions there was a very original and fun method of choosing which table of guests would eat dinner first. With Laura's wedding it was a game of musical chairs. I was expecting the same game again and got a pleasant surprise when they pulled out hoola hoops! It was quite entertaining.

Kayaking Harrison Lake

I don't normally post non-work images on my blog but I thought these images were pretty cool. I did my first 3 day kayaking trip on Harrison Lake a few weekends ago and it was amazing. Saturday morning was a spectacular day with blue skies and mirror smooth water. Unfortunately the whole trip was not quite so pristine, there were some "white knuckle moments" on some rough water. But since I was not willing to let go of my paddle during that time to illustrate those tense moments...I thought I could at least show some of the truly peaceful mornings.

United Church 2010

For the third year in a row I have had the pleasure of photographing the annual United Church ordination service. This year the service was held in Vancouver in a beautiful old church. Of course the lighting was quite poor but I was given permission to use my flash this year and I was able to snag a front row seat. I quite enjoy photographing this event as it always reminds me of my own United Church roots. All images photographed can be viewed by visiting the website at http://www.kelcophoto.ca select "clients" the title of the gallery is United church 2010.

Sherry's Family

A couple of weekends ago I photographed Sherry's family. I first met Sherry and Bill when they asked me to photograph their son's christening in Victoria. The family happened to be over on the mainland (to see Thomas the Train) so we met at Stanley Park to take some photographs on one of the few sunny days we have had this spring.

Claude & Dianne's Wedding

On May 2nd I photographed Claude and Dianne's wedding. The wedding and reception were both held at the Ramada in Abbotsford. It was a rainy day but we were brave and managed to make it outside to take just a couple of formal photos and then did the rest of the photos in the hotel. I must say I was incredibly impressed with the food at the Ramada! I think it may have been the best wedding meal I have ever had and I've been to a lot of weddings. I highly recommend the Ramada as a great venue with wonderful efficient staff.

Community Services "Salute to Spring Event"

Last weekend I volunteered my photography skills for the "Salute to Spring Event" put on by the Chilliwack Community Services. It was a classy event with over 180 guests in attendance. The event included a silent auction to help raise funds to support community service projects. You can view all of the photographs from the event on my website at http://www.kelcophoto.ca select "clients" to view the gallery.

Chilliwack United Church

On Easter Sunday I took the congregational group photograph for the Chilliwack United Church. I have also been working on creating a new website for the church. You can view the website at http://www.chilliwackunitedchurch.com

Fraser Valley Women's Show

Tomorrow is the start of the Fraser Valley Women's Show, March 5-7 at Heritage Park in Chilliwack. The hours are Friday 4-10, Saturday 10-10, and Sunday 11-5. For more information you can visit their website at http://www.fraservalleywomenshow.com
Above is a photo of my booth. Its a bit of a small space to work with, so since the fire fighters are right next door to me they have allowed my booth to expand a bit and share some of the space with them. I've got a great view of the stage too so hopefully I will have a bit of time to watch some of the events.

Shauna's Family

Last weekend I photographed Shauna's family at Ellwood park in Abbotsford. We were lucky with getting some good weather for the portrait session. Shauna's two little boys were super cute and full of energy and laughter. Shauna's sister Allison and her family participated in the session as well and a great time was had by all.
